The State research and implementing center of geoinformation systems and technologies (FGUP "GOSGISCENTR") was established in 1993. GOSGISCENTR is the official fund holder of the bank of digital cartographic information on the territory of the Russian Federation. The bank is an integral part of the Federal cartographic - geodetic fund of the Russian Federation. The Federal cartographic - geodetic Fund of the Russian Federation is a combination of federal, inter-industry value geodetic, cartographic, topographic, hydrographic and gravimetric materials and data received as a result of the implementation of geodetic and cartographic activities, presented in graphic, digital, photographic and other forms and subject to permanent or long-term storage.

The Fund of FGUP "GOSGISCENTR" is focused on digital topographic maps on the territory of Russia at scales: 1:1 000 000, 1:200 000, 1:100 000, 1:50 000 and 1:25 000 Digital maps can be delivered to customers in formats that support the development of domestic software products - "Neva", "Panorama" as well as the most popular international formats - ARC/INFO, MAP/INFO, DXF/DBF, etc.

FCGF-portal is an integral part of the spatial data infrastructure of the Russian Federation. The main objective of the portal is providing official open information about the digital cartographic products of FCGF.

The portal allows to receive information on availability of digital topographic maps at different scales on the territory of the Russian Federation and to look through map images in a browser window or access to the maps from GIS according to OPENGIS WMS. The portal includes interactive modes to select and print parts of the maps. Metadata are attached to all digital maps, which can be found on the internet-portal. The portal of the Federal cartographic-geodesic fund is regularly updated.

The portal includes:

• digital topographic maps at scales 1:1 000 000, 1:200 000 and 1:100 000 for the whole territory of Russia;
• digital topographic maps at scales 1:50 000 and 1:25 000 for some regions of the Russian Federation;
• digital city plans at scale 1:10 000.

The portal contains more than 490 general geographic and thematic maps and materials describing the history of the formation of the country, its research, mapping, current federal structure of the Russian Federation, the administrative-territorial structure of its subjects, etc.

Production of wall maps.

GOSGISCENTER has the large assortment of wall maps: they are general geographic and political-administrative maps at various scales and sizes.

For the first time in the Russian Federation FGUP "GOSGISCENTR" has created a relief general geographic 1: 2 500 000 wall map of Russia, scale of . This scale allows displaying the entire territory of the Russian Federation at the size 3500mm x 2007mm.

The impressive size of the map, its unique visual characteristics and quality of production, enables it to be used not only as the map but for decorating offices, conference halls, exhibition centers, etc.

Three-dimensional presentation of the cartographic image gives special visibility: relief is pressed on the plastic in accordance with the actual height of the area and painted with color, traditionally friendly to read. The map reflects the current status of the territory of the Russian Federation.
